Luke 8:43-48; Acts 17:27-28 (NLT); 1 Samuel 2:1-11 (The Voice)

Dictionary.com defines the verb “feel” as the following: “to perceive or examine by touch; to have a sensation of something, other than by sight, hearing, taste, or smell; to find or pursue one’s way…; to be or become conscious of; to be emotionally affected by; to experience the effects of.” The word can also be used as a noun: “a quality of an object that is perceived by feeling or touching (“the feel of the fabric”); a sensation of something felt (“a feeling of joy in the room”); and the “native ability of acquired sensitivity” (“to have a feel for something”).

The Scriptures offered for study of this theme each address a different type of feeling: In Luke....

2015-2017 AB Women's Ministry Focus "See"

The 2015-2017 ministry focus theme of American Baptist Women's Ministries, will give us the opportunity to spend two years focusing upon how we are seen by God, how we see God, and how we are called to see the world through God's eyes.

"See..." is based on Psalm 34:8, Psalm 139, and Luke 10:29-37, as well as other Scriptures.

2013-15 AB Women's Ministries Themes

Program theme: A Time to Serve

Theme scripture:  Ephesians 4:12-13.  “To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

2013-14 Mission Study Theme:  Prisoner Re-entry and Aftercare Ministries

2013-14 Geographic Theme:  Myanmar (Burma)

First Baptist Fargo’s AB Women’s Ministries meets monthly at either the church or in homes.  At our meetings, we have a devotional/Bible study and some type of activity.

In June, Women’s Conference is held at Camp Bentley.  The conference is a weekend retreat starting on Friday night and ending on Sunday at noon.  Activities include singing, bible study, mission reports, prayer time, and reconnecting with others.  If the weather permits, we have fellowship outside, camp fire, and paddle boat or pontoon riding on the lake.

We participate in our state’s White Cross request.  This entails sending requested goods to a mission somewhere in the United States as well as contributing money to a mission overseas.  We make roller bandages from sheets for the Congo Hospitals through Brethren Service Center.

To raise funds for these projects, we have participated in the Church Bazaar at the Moorhead Center Mall in November.  Our members contribute hand-made items such as pot-holders, book marks, scarves and hats, table runners, etc.  Our wonderful cooks have contributed cookies, pies, krumkake, breads, etc.  It is a wonderful weekend of greeting the public and showing our faithfulness to others.  The past several years we have also participated in selling brats and pop at Cashwise Foods in Fargo.  This activity is another outreach that everybody that participates seems to enjoy.
